can we celebrate futures of argentina youth and their g20 connections around the world of the sustainability generation

help our frieds including youth journalists at EconomistAmerica.com add in celebration links to this tour round some of the stories inspiring us in the weeks preceding Argentinian g20 rsvp isabella@unacknowledgedgiant.com

nov 2018: dear founder of journalust hub in argentian caled the bubble - I was the questioner at wilson center yesterday on whether argentina has a unique opportunity in time as a regional tech hub linked to being the g20's portal into whole of latin america at this times of entrepreneurial revolution

congrats on creating the bubble and other hub-micromedia networks- i find podcast networks extremely useful in navigating who are youth  technology's greatest co-creators - do you know of chinese american 996 podcast

996 Podcast with GGV Capital or brazalian-chinese-americans 500 women hub 500 Women – Funding #Flawless Female Founders - 500 Startups

My associates who co-publish guides to world record jobs creators grounded by different Belt Road world trade maps and I are focused on one way of changing livelihood education - recommending to young people everywhere that they maximise knowhow friendships and positive trades with chinese youth while not directly upsetting any productive relationships they have with other places

I go over to beijing every 2 months to discuss this - for example tsinghua university has lots of twin nation youth dialogues going on and its the gateway to the largest tech suburb hub in the world- do you already have a main correspondent in beijing

comparison

if you leave  boston's mit and do a square mile walk of future industries, in tsinghua its a square 10 miles and the hubs connect with humanising every fast changing technology- china has half a billion under 30s- the one child policy together with a fast developing country's relative lack of social safety nets  means most family trees are dependent on their smartest 20-30 year olds;

and at a community future of education-tech level it is women who are valued most to hold up half the sky

china has to make sure it maximises its youth livelihoods and sees sustainability goals as meaning that 80%of future livelihoods are collaborative across worldwide communities not competitive -it is trailblazing shared economies platforms as extreme opposites to the loss of true human integrity  that is facebook's advertising model- all of this is particularly true for changing education and blending the intelligence of artificials and humans so every youth is future skilled -

Robot Sophia on her Goals for the Future - World Investment Forum 2018

what jack ma is spending rest of his life on from september and where he is already the UN envoy for this - see www.digitalcooperation.org - due march 2019 i believe the digital cooperation report guterres has asked for jack ma, melinda gates and 20 others to build and which unctad out of geneva will distribute is the most exciting new resource of the year 2018-2019 and jack is building a university so that youth from all nations can come and co-create such futures

EconomistDiary.com thanks AmyChina QuarterBillionGirls

do these ideas fit with what The Bubble and other networks you have founded want to link in- i dont speak spanish but i have been researching tipping points of the 2020s since the 1970s- my father end poverty sub-editor at The Economist interpreted the significance of the moon landing as tech would double its societal impacts every 7 years between 1946 and 2030 - thats a moores law of 4000 times moore- the other moores law 21st c youth needed to transform is going green

; dad Norman Macrae : Books & Surveys at The Economist  did the old fashioned thing of an annual survey on how could different peoples futures get better; his 1977 survey on china mapped why china had to return to being the pivotal economy of the sustainability generation uniting hemispheres

here are some of the leads young fieinds and i are exploring in case you see ones that either you are already building or would like to build- are you staying in dc longer enough that we could discuss these further or do you already have your person in dc that i could meet?

  • g20- because jack hosted hangzhou g20 in 2016 as first g20 after un sustainability goalss he spent a lot of time designing in young citizen networks around tech, small enterprise commerce ("EWTP"), green finance- he likes to see these continue year in tear out- argentina has chance to make sure it is one hub in this process- fortunately both the g20 and the olympics sponsored by jack ma are hosted by japan so there will be strong g20 connections over next year for every sort of co-operation jack sees youth and industrial revolution 4 celebrating - in this he teams up with world economic form hubs being opened by schwab in beijing tokyo and san francsico
  • i was at a training iof 3000 people Gateway '17 in toronto- a place that is a world class sherpa of its youth to the g20- canada was at that time trying to find out who was going to play argentina linkin role - as well as eg who is interested in future stiff 1 blockchain 2 AI 3 internet of things as g5 tech connects more mobile things that peoples

  1. jack alreday puts 15 billion dollars into an intercity and network called damo ; with unctad he is building 1000 person tech youth university aiming to have a strong youth delegation from every youthful country
  2. the one good thing out of dc linking latin america seems to me to be the iadb annual compoetition celebrating social youth entrepreneurs across the continent; the head of the iadb encouarges youth to place brand tehir futures; this first with unhabitat new leader (former female mayor penang) bring out a 2020 report on supercities- her secretariat is strongly staffed by latin americans
  3. xi jinping is said by his brookings biographer cheng li  anthroplogically to admire pope fraancis a lot he would like to see confucian and franciscan institutes maximise positive cultural translations across student unions- and of course as a top 3 language in the world all spanish speaking youth have a lot to co-create- the number 1 education summit in the world wise called off at madrid 19 months ago- i attended that and have a few contacts with people of spanish culture whao are mad abouth changing education futures of youth

I realise this is a completely different narrative that yesterdays macroeconomic forum- but then dad always believed in diversity up - with mass media he saw macroeconomics 1950-2000 as spiralling disgraceful political chicanery not the futures youth needed to co-create as the sustainability generation

anyhow well done for creating the bubble and other networks - i dont speak spanish myself but will try and browse them- have you heard of a guy called john price?- in canada he was introduced as one of the people jack ma friends trusted to scout out youth opportunities across latin america

chinense amy at columbia university attended many of the latin american iadb summits etc that my friends have been tracking since 2013 when we first met a lot of people at iadb as they helped the world bank launch youth summits; we know about 6 hi-level people in world bank who are supposed to linkin in youths futures across latin america though the world bank is a complex place- finally my father used to commute with lord nicholas stern who is one of the un finance eminents and whom the Asian Infrastructure Investment and new development Banking networks wanted to present findings at argentina g20 - an emerging report is here https://www.globalfinancialgovernance.org/assets/pdf/G20EPG-Full%20Report.pdf

both amy and i have strong japanese friendships - my father was awarded the emperors medal for trying to connect win-wins between east and west from 1962 onwards

amy's friend camilo at columbia university also runs wall streets only end poverty fund for latin americas www.imperativefund.com   - audrey coding schools for girls is a benchmark many nations could be starting up with - she links in out of nairobi probably africas model city for youth to positively hack and IHub the world though we have good friends in joburg who started the biggest free university but zuma rather buried jobourg's opportunity as worldwide youth city- can new superplace leaders change this is arguably africa's pivotal question this year as it could be latin americas

jonathan was back in 2003 the founder of the impact hup out of london which now links about 50 cities

In the power-crazed mens world of vested interests  there are hypocrites, american media -- and American Congress. with lobbyists fat and sad old beltway. Its not just the anti-social absurdity of reducing the rights of women to a debate between the Bla and and the Nagh. If sustaining mother earth is our urgent goal for our children. then we the peoples would like to be able to dicsuss trade when markets live up to Adam Smith's goals with all peoples= trade is athe future's only seachable way to improve rights of peoples- and its not as if the USA has ever lived up to its own squeaky clean image - to the 60s or longer the rights of black Americans were not the same of whites; today even as Latin Americans will likely be the biggest demographic by 2050 their rights in Trump's so-called Great America do not seem (well) right-

wikipedai offers this data oct 2018

This is a list of Latin American and Caribbean countries by gross domestic product at purchasing power parity in international dollars according to the International Monetary Fund's estimates in the October 2018 World Economic Outlook database.

The Latin American countries BrazilMexico, and Argentina accounted for over two-thirds of the region's total gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2015, while Caribbean nations represented a little over 1% of the region's total GDP (PPP). Trinidad and Tobago had the region's highest GDP (PPP) per capita, whereas Haiti had the lowest.

Cuba is not included in the list due to lack of economic data. Puerto Rico is not listed since it is a U.S. territory.

Brazil After Bolsonaro’s Victory

Audio & key quotes

In the wake of far-right Jair Bolsonaro's victory in the presidential runoff, what comes next for Brazil? “Bolsonaro is an untested leader who will now have to assemble a government, develop a government plan that was not discussed very much during the campaign, and run the country,” says Brazil Institute Director Paulo Sotero.

With its 43,024,374 people, Argentina is the 32nd largest country in the world by population. It is the 8th largest country in the world by area with 2,780,400 square kilometers.

In 1816, the United Provinces of the Rio Plata declared their independence from Spain. After Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay went their separate ways, the area that remained became Argentina. The country's population and culture were heavily shaped by immigrants from throughout Europe, with Italy and Spain providing the largest percentage of newcomers from 1860 to 1930

Heading into next year’s elections, President Mauricio Macri faces bleak economic prospects. The Argentine peso has lost half its value this year, and the country’s inflation rate is among the highest in the world. The economy is expected to contract this year by 2.5 percent.

In a symbol of the hard slog ahead, the International Monetary Fund is opening a permanent office in Buenos Aires, where its economists will supervise its largest-ever loan. The $57 billion IMF bailout has stabilized Argentina’s crisis-prone economy, helping to prevent a meltdown that would have added to global emerging market jitters. But it came at a tremendous political cost. The IMF is a deeply mistrusted institution in Argentina, and its loan conditions are deepening the economic contraction.

Please join us on Monday, November 5, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., to discuss Argentina’s macroeconomic challenges, the international response and the country’s uncertain path to recovery.
